Welcome to Admiral Images

Welcome to my website, I hope you enjoy the pictures that I've shown here. They cover a wide range of my photographic interests and should contain something that appeals to everyone.

My passion for photography stared at a very early age when I was given a second (or was it third) hand Box Brownie for my 6th Birthday. It was during the war years and you couldn't get film but with a little imagination and a lot of enthusiasm I clicked the shutter at almost everything and my photographic interest was born.

Like most photographers of my era, I grew up in the developing and printing age when every self respecting photographer had his or her own darkroom. But the digital age is now with us, and whilst I still have my trusted Olympus Om2N and it's range of lenses, I have now worked my way through a variety of Canon cameras, starting with an EOS 20D and now rely on a Canon EOS 5D Mk 2 for the majority of my picture taking.

It used to be said, "The camera doesn't lie" but I'm afraid that in the digital age this just isn't true. If encouraged with a little help from Adobe then the resulting image can be far from what the camera first saw. The purists will scream 'foul' at this; maybe they are right, but I'm not going to get involved in this argument.

I am a Licentiate Member of The Royal Photographic Society, I am a Judge for the Western Counties Photographic Federation and currently I am the Chairman of the Cirencester Camera Club. Enjoy my images; I enjoyed taking them. If you have any comments, good, bad or indifferent I would be pleased to receive them. Thanks for your interest.
